Three cruise ships will make stops in Thunder Bay over the next two years.
Local tourism manager Paul Pepe tells us it does depend on the COVID-19 situation, but the plan is for two of them to tour Thunder Bay this summer, one the following summer. “They’ll go to the Fort, Kakabeka Falls, also Mount McKay, the shopping district of Bay and Algoma has always been popular for the vessels. The excursions go as far as Nipigon.”
The tourism manager adds the Hanseatic Inspiration will arrive this summer, also a ship from Victory Cruise lines, expected to bring roughly $150,000 in revenue. Then, next summer, Viking will be sending a ship here, turning around, bringing between $3-6-million.
