Four People Attacked on New York City Subways in 24 Hours as Mayor Touts Safety

Four people, including an MTA employee, were attacked in New York City s subway system Wednesday morning, all in unrelated incidents.
The first attack took place in the Times Square subway station. A 47-year-old MTA employee, Andrea Vasquez, was on duty early Wednesday morning when she was punched in the face, according to Transport Workers Union Local 100. She did not require medical attention, and her attacker fled down the platform.
The attacker, according to WABC, is described as a man in his 20s to 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing dark clothing.

Maternity startup Oula strikes partnership with Mount Sinai West
Through the partnership, Oula’s patients will be able to deliver their babies at Mount Sinai West, while still working with their maternity care team at Oula.

After Oula founders Adrianne Nickerson and Elaine Purcell opened their first maternity clinic in Brooklyn this year, there was still a missing piece of the puzzle. They had built up a service to care for people from the beginning of a pregnancy through postpartum care, but there was still the matter of where the births would take place.
The startup struck a partnership with Mount Sinai West, which would allow them to deliver patients’ babies there. Patients would still receive care from their obstetrician and midwife through Oula, but would also have access to hospital resources and specialists as needed.

A teenager died from sepsis on a school trip to New York after telling teachers she felt unwell, an inquest heard.
Ana Uglow, 17, a student at Bristol Grammar School, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai West hospital in December 2019.
Avon Coroner’s Court heard yesterday (Monday, May 10) she was on a school trip to Washington, Philadelphia and New York at the time.
