DOBSON The Surry County Sheriff’s Office has released the following arrest reports:
• Shannon Renee Stone, 44, of Pilot-Westfield Road, Pilot Mountain, was served warrants Dec. 1, charging her with two crimes in Stokes County: assault and battery and false imprisonment. She was released with no bond and a Dec. 16 court date in Danbury.
• George Russell Gilbert, 22, of Crestbrook Place, Elkin, was served an order for arrest Dec. 3 for failure to appear in court June 22. He was given a $300 cash bond and a Jan. 14 court date.
• Craig Glenn Brindle, 35, of Ararat Road, Ararat, was served an order for arrest Dec. 1 for failure to appear in court earlier that day on three misdemeanors. He was given a $1,000 secured bond and a Jan. 4 court date.

One of the big guns at CBS News could be heading to Mount Airy soon for a special report by the television network on this city’s Mayberry connection and its identification with recent national events.
This concerns a project involving longtime correspondent Ted Koppel which has been in the works for months.
It is targeted for “CBS News Sunday Morning,” a news magazine program on the air for more than 40 years.
Dustin Stephens, a producer for that show, said in January that its focus on “Mayberry” is part of the TV network’s ongoing coverage of a unique period for the nation.

DOBSON Surry County Schools will be holding a virtual job recruitment event on Thursday, April 8, spread across three sessions. Prospective employees can learn more about a career with Surry County Schools in either of the sessions, set for 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 5p.m.
Surry County Schools is the largest employer in Surry County, and positions are available for teachers, teacher assistants, school nutrition, and transportation. Prospective employees are asked to select the time that works best for their schedule on April 8 and join the event via Google Meet at meet.google.com/wwx-yyvj-xan.
