Hotel G has apologised for declining a room reservation to an individual working at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. According to an image circulating online, the initial email to the guest said: Further to [the] tele-conversation earlier, we will not proceed with room reservation due to the possible risk exposed to the staycation guests, as you are currently working at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and travel to work daily.
On the image were captions that called out Hotel G for discriminating against healthcare workers. One of the captions said: We are advised to try to segregate from our families but how [can we do so] when we can t even book a room to stay in? . In a rather unexpected move, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) took to Facebook to share a post about the rough week it has experienced due to the unforeseen cluster situation that recently emerged. Just yesterday, MOH confirmed 14 new community cases among 39 new COVID-19 infections on noon 2 May. According to CNA, 11 out of the 14 cases were linked to TTSH cluster. Prior to the news report, TTSH took to Facebook on 29 April to address the public regarding the measures it has taken to contain the situation it faced.

Staff at outlets in Square 2 said footfall has fallen by 10 to 50 per cent since news of the cluster broke and people returned to working from home.

Lunchtime crowds still thronged two popular malls in Novena yesterday despite the Covid-19 cluster linked to the nearby Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), but businesses said footfall has been impacted.
Diners and shoppers at Velocity and Square 2 that The Straits Times spoke to said they were not overly concerned about the TTSH cluster, as they had faith the authorities were handling the situation.
