5 Just shy of a four-year run, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Essayons command cases its traditional colors on May 15, 2021 for the final time, during a small but impactful ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
It was on May 20, 2017 that the Transatlantic Division published an order establishing Task Force Essayons, in response to the Army’s Central Command demand signal for several anticipated projects in the Central Commands Joint Operational Area.
Task Force Essayons was a revolutionary approach to meeting small project requirements in support of military contingency operations. It is viewed as a highly responsive and essential engineering element in support of the Warfighter.

It is not often you receive an American flag flown in combat as a thank you, but that is exactly what Charlie Company of the 1-137th Assault Helicopter Battalion sent to the middle school students at Saint Joseph Catholic School.
The flag, along with a certificate signed by the military pilots and their flight crew, certifying the flag was flown during a combat mission in northern Iraq and Syria, was in appreciation for the care packages of snacks, letters, and food the students sent to our troops in October 2020.

Baghdad International Airport, which houses personnel of the US-led international military coalition against the Islamic State, was targeted by at least three rockets on Thursday night.
No one was reported injured in the strike, which landed at the edge of the airport near an area housing US military forces, according to an Iraqi military statement.

The top commander of US forces in the Middle East told lawmakers that he does not foresee a full US withdrawal from Iraq amid continued dialogue with officials in Baghdad.
“That move is not contemplated,” head of US Central Command Gen. Kenneth “Frank” McKenzie told members of the House Armed Services Committee during a hearing on Tuesday.

“After the relevant authorities investigated the explosion at Erbil International Airport tonight, the results show that it was carried out by a TNT drone and directed at the Coalition forces at the airport. There are no casualties and the investigation continues to find the source and place of the drone,” the ministry said in a statement.
