Where high-energy gymnastics meets pop culture, the Athleta Presents Gold Over America Tour will be headlined by Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles at Nationwide Arena on Oct. 19.
The Columbus-born gymnast will lead the show, which will feature an assembly of female gymnastic champions spreading messages of empowerment and togetherness in the hopes of inspiring the next generation of athletes.
The 35-city tour will kick off in Tucson, Arizona, in September, with other stops in Denver, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn and others before ending in Boston.

As members of the Asian American community face an onrush of violent hate crimes, attacks that have increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jona Hilario and others said sharing their experiences is essential in the fight against racism.
While there s been growing awareness nationally, there s still a line of separation between Asian Americans and other residents on a local level, Hilario, a Hilliard resident, said. In helping educate central Ohioans on the matter, Hilario said events such as the Asian Festival can help bridge the gap.
Through shared commonalities and cultural interests, whether food, dance or music, this year s festival has even more significance given today s societal climate, said Hilario, who serves as the co-director of OPAWL a statewide group of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women and nonbinary volunteers who organize social-justice initiatives.
The world s best bodybuilders and fittest athletes will battle it out during the 2021 Arnold Classic and related IFBB Pro League contests at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on Sept. 25.
The Arnold Classic men’s bodybuilding championships, held annually since 1989, is the marquee event of the Arnold Sports Festival. The multi-sport event founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Lorimer will be a one-day celebration of professional bodybuilding.
Contestants will compete for a $412,000 prize during this year s event, which was originally scheduled for March but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Competitor lists for this year’s contests will be announced in mid-June.
Rodeo is back in Columbus, with CINCH World s Toughest Rodeo set for Sept. 4 at Nationwide Arena.
The action-packed competition will be filed with cowboys from across the country vying for Pro Rodeo s World Champion title. And with it being the final month to qualify for the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, top contenders will be lining up in Columbus.
The evening will begin with a free preshow from 6 to 7 p.m. for every guest with a rodeo ticket. The main event will begin at 7:30 p.m., which will spotlight fan favorites such as bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding and women’s barrel racing.
