Bucs Roster Moves, Divisional Round Game vs New Orleans

Copied! Eleven players made their NFL regular-season debuts with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. Rookie safety Javon Hagan could make it an even dozen on Sunday night. The Buccaneers elevated Hagan along with inside linebacker Deone Bucannon and guard Ted Larsen from the practice squad on Saturday, making them eligible to play in the team s Divisional Round playoff game at New Orleans on Sunday. Hagen and Larsen were standard elevations while Bucannon was a COVID replacement for inside linebacker Kevin Minter, who remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Bucs place guard Alex Cappa on Injured Reserve, Sign Earl Watford

Copied! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed guard Alex Cappa on injured reserve on Friday due to the fractured ankle he suffered in the team s Wild Card win at Washington last Saturday. To take Cappa s place on the active roster and restore depth to the team s interior offensive line, the Buccaneers have re-signed eighth-year veteran guard Earl Watford. Cappa, who started all 17 games during the regular season plus the Wild Card contest at right guard, will miss the remainder of the season. Players must spend a minimum of three games on injured reserve before they are eligible to return. In his second season as a starter, Cappa was part of an offensive line that finished second in the NFL in sacks allowed per pass play and helped the Buccaneers offense rank third in scoring with 30.8 points per game.

SR s Fab 5: The Saints Last Hurrah? Bucs - Saints Playoff Preview

The Saints’ last hurrah is approaching – rapidly approaching. According to OverTheCap.com, New Orleans is $95 million over the 2021 salary cap – even if quarterback Drew Brees decides to retire. That’s assuming that the cap will be near the projected floor of $176 million, but sources have told PewterReport.com that instead of a near $25 million decrease in the 2021 cap due to lost stadium revenue, the league may decide to have a flat cap of $198 million again and keep it flat without any growth for the next couple of years to make up for the losses during the COVID-ridden 2020 season. Either way, the Saints are toast.
