(Bloomberg) Finance ministers and central bankers from the world’s biggest economies plan to warn that coronavirus variants present continued risks to growth even as the overall outlook brightens, according to a draft communique seen by Bloomberg News.
Infections are rising across most regions as the delta variant spreads, the World Health Organization’s chief scientist said. Russia on Saturday reported a record 752 deaths from the virus, and cases climbed in Tokyo, Sydney and Seoul.
Singapore and the Netherlands reimposed curbs to control another outbreak, and the reproduction rate in England rose to levels not seen since October. Still, the U.K. is also considering whether to exempt health workers from the requirement to self-isolate if they’re in contact with someone who has the virus, Sky News reported, citing unidentified officials.

A Milwaukee Public School spokesman says while the CDC guidance allows flexibility for local districts to determine masking policies, at this time MPS will continue requiring masks in schools.

It s only July, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is focusing on the coming school year, and its message is clear: It wants students back in the classroom.
On Friday, the agency issued updated guidance for K-12 schools, highlighting the importance of getting as many eligible children vaccinated as possible to return classrooms to normal or near normal and enumerating its list of best practices to prevent transmission of COVID-19.
