Adventure Cove making a splash with more activities at Lake Shawnee

Shawnee County commissioner Aaron Mays said he remembers playing at Lake Shawnee swim beach, which is the same spot that Adventure Cove inhabits now. “Lake Shawnee Swim Beach brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. I spent many days when I was a kid coming out here and going down the water slide,” Mays told the handful of people gathered at the ribbon cutting for the new Adventure Cove. “At the time, it was probably the best water slide in the region.” Even so, Mays said he prefers the new Adventure Cove that has cleaner water and more activities. Adventure Cove will open for the season May 29. 5 Places to Find Walleye in Northern New Jersey Walleye are one of the most fun, vexing, frustrating, and challenging freshwater fish to catch on a consistent basis. Sure, this spine-studded, marble-eyed mystery has been a year-round legal quarry on the Delaware River, but the last two months have been catchand-release only on all other Garden and Empire state venues where it prowls. No doubt is was exasperating having to release legal-and-longer fish brought through the holes, but starting at this fifth turn of the calendar page, they can be kept and cooked. Or let go, if you choose. However, from this corner, ‘eyes are about catching and eating. Fire up the Fry Daddy!
