A ton of reasons can be attributed to the Phoenix Suns’ meteoric rise to the crest of the West’s mountaintop.
One such would be Monty Williams, who emblazoned a brightly lit trail to regency with a rugged winning mindset and stark attention to detail from the coach’s seat. Williams just received a well-deserved NBCA Coach of the Year award as voted upon by his peers, and has made wondrous contributions to Phoenix’s winning efforts since being signed to a five-year deal back in 2019.
It’s been eight years since the Lakers have walked away with a victory in Indiana. That count reset today as the Lakers grabbed a 122-115 win over the Pacers this Saturday morning.

On Friday, in Game 63 of the 2020-21 NBA regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers, for the first time, took the floor with Dennis Schroder, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Andre Drummond together in the starting lineup.
L.A. fell in disappointing fashion to the Sacramento Kings, but at least they could be encouraged by the sight of their four best players (presumably) running plays together. After all, L.A. has less than two weeks to get everybody up to speed, in shape, and on the same wavelength before the playoffs.
