There are four candidates vying for three open seats. (Submitted) GRAYSLAKE, IL There are three incumbents and one newcomer vying for three open seats on the Grayslake Village Board this spring. Newcomer Laura Dias is facing off against incumbents Lalena Zoe Magnetta, Shawn Vogel and Adam Shores. Election Day is Tuesday and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shores, who was first elected to the village board in 2016, and Magnetta, who joined last year, agree on one thing: The main issue facing Grayslake is the financial burden of property taxes.

The Lake County Clerk s Office hosts Operation Green Light this month

TAVARES The Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller is preparing to host a week-long event to help those with suspended driver s licenses, those nearing a suspension or those in past-due collections save money on select delinquent fines and fees. The annual event known as Operation Green Light, is a coordinated initiative hosted by clerks’ offices throughout Florida. Lake County’s event will take place next week, Monday through March 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clerk s office will accommodate payments over the phone; people can call 352-742-3846.,Payments may be made online after a customer has already coordinated payment terms with a payment clerk. Those wishing to pay in-person may do so at the Lake County Courthouse, 550 W. Main St., in Tavares.
