Art of Justice, the Coalition of 100 Black Women Central Florida and other organizations under The Movement Coalition will honor George Floyd in Orlando one year after his murder.
Lawanna Gelzer, President of the Coalition of 100 Black Women Central Florida, said even though Floyd’s killer was convicted, the fight is long from over.

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a year without Fireworks at the Fountain, the city of Orlando is bringing back the boom with the annual July 4th show at Lake Eola.
The city canceled the fireworks show in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and in lieu of the live event News 6 offered a replay of the event’s greatest hits but this year the show will go on.
News 6 partners with the city to broadcast the spectacular fireworks show downtown and will again this year.

In Orlando, no outdoor space is as well used as Lake Eola. Since 1888, the park has provided a bit of reprieve for those in downtown Orlando, but as the region grows, the park has struggled to keep up. Now welcoming more than three million visitors a year, the park is in desperate need of a facelift. Orlando is now in the process of developing a master plan for the park that will guide the park’s evolution for decades to come.
More than 200 people showed up Saturday outside Orlando City Hall in solidarity with the people of the occupied Palestinian territories after nearly two weeks of fighting between Hamas and the Israeli government led to a ceasefire.
