Nestle SA agreed to buy vitamin maker Bountiful Co for US$5.75 billion, becoming a world leader in the field of minerals and supplements, as the COVID-19 pandemic boosts demand for pills. KKR & Co and Carlyle are selling the company for 16.8 times earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization. Nestle said it expects the purchase to close in the second half and weigh on profitability this year. Nestle chief executive officer Mark Schneider dove into the field of vitamins and supplements in his first year as CEO in 2017 with the US$2.3 billion acquisition of Atrium Innovations Inc.

Raytheon CEO to become chairman as well
Raytheon Technologies chief executive Greg Hayes is adding the chairmanâs role to his job title now that executive chairman Tom Kennedy has announced his retirement from the company as of June 1. The announcement, made by the company on Monday, comes roughly one year after the merger of Raytheon Co. and United Technologies Corp. UTC relocated its headquarters to Waltham from Connecticut as a result of the merger, and adopted the Raytheon name. Kennedy, 65, joined Raytheon in 1983 and he had been running it at the time of the merger, while Hayes, 60, was in charge of UTC. Hayes transformed UTC from a much broader industrial conglomerate into a more focused aerospace and defense company by orchestrating the Raytheon merger, as well as selling off the Sikorsky helicopter division, acquiring Rockwell Collins, and spinning off the Otis e
Nestlé confirms plan to purchase The Bountiful Co. in deal in $5 billion range Swiss nutrition giant Nestlé has reportedly confirmed that it will acquire The Bountiful Co. prior to a planned initial public offering for the maker of Nature’s Bounty supplements.
The Bountiful Co. is what Nature’s Bounty Inc. renamed itself in January 2020. The company has also formerly been known as NBTY. In mid April the company had filed paperwork with the US Securities and Exchange Commission for an inital public offering, which was originally planned to raise $100 million worth of shares as a placeholder value.
Bountiful, which is majority owned by prominent private equity firm KKR & Co., was planning a launch under the stock ticker BTFL.
