‘Watts for Dinner’: Make some memories at Goodland’s Little Bar

Our next dining destination is Little Bar in Goodland. Visiting the establishment’s website, I was greeted with “Is Little Bar Open?” That’s exactly what I was verifying.
I was also greeted with this message, that was posted last May. “Little Bar is grappling with guidance, economic well-being versus physical well-being, individual freedom versus collective good.”
Well said.
We allowed ourselves to eat at the restaurant through a combination of thoughtful decisions; we went between lunch and dinner on a weekday – when there are fewer diners – and we scored outside (waterfront) seating. It was a beautiful day with cool temps, a breeze, and despite the time, there was still live music from the next door neighbor, Stan’s Happy Hour, wafting across the water. Perfect!
‘Watts for Dinner’ the Takeout Edition: The Lakeside Eatery makes healthy delicious

My first visit to The Lakeside Eatery was Christmas Eve 2019, shortly after the restaurant opened. Some things have changed since then – like eggs are off the table (literally) and the restaurant now opens at 10:30 a.m., weekdays and 11 on Saturday – and some things remain the same – like the detail and artistic aesthetic of the food served.
First up for me was the avocado toast ($7). You get two slices of toasted multigrain bread topped with smashed avocado, chopped tomatoes, sesame seeds and seasoning. Very nice to look at, even better to eat. This dish is one of my favorite brunch items.

This was my first visit to Uncle Micky’s Pizza on Isles of Capri. Due to the pandemic, the eatery is now located inside the Capri Fish House.
Driving into the Isles of Capri on this Sunday evening, I was one of a long line of cars weaving through the two-lane road. Every restaurant parking lot seemed to be filled with cars and I got what felt like the very last space in front of Capri Fish House. Thank goodness I was picking up a call in order as I don’t think there was an empty table in the place.

Our next dining destination is just across the bridge in the South Naples Walmart shopping plaza. Frankie s Authentic Italian Deli’s name is quite the boast, and for the most part, it lives up to it.
From the vast selections of pizzas, we ordered the “White Pie” ($19.95), featuring mozzarella, ricotta, and Romano cheeses, garlic, olive oil and your choice of broccoli or spinach. Can’t decide between the last two ingredients? No worries. Just do half and half, like we did.
I liked the broccoli a lot. It’s never better than when it sits atop a pizza. But the spinach side was even better. The crust is thin and crispy, and the cheese is piled high. We’ve never had a bad pizza from Frankie’s.
