Mayor Mike Coffman, who spent a week living in homeless encampments and local shelters at the end of 2020, will propose a camping ban for Aurora. I will be introducing an ordinance prohibiting camping in the City of Aurora on Thursday, Coffman tweeted on Monday, May 17. The proposal is already drafted but I want to work with our City Attorney s office to make sure that the proposed camping ban is compliant with the CDC guidelines that were put in place at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and are still in effect. I also want to make sure that the proposed camping ban meets the conditions spelled out in court decisions where camping bans have been challenged and were upheld.
At-large-councilwoman Allison Hiltz, who first ran as a Democrat but is now unaffiliated, also decided not to go for a second term. She recently gave birth to her first child and plans to spend time focusing on her son, she says.
Nicole Johnston, who represents Ward II and held the mayor pro tem title for a year, also decided not to run again so that she could spend more time with her family. (She, too, ran as a Democrat but is now unaffiliated.) In fact, Johnston is resigning in June in order to move to Colorado Springs so that her kids can be closer to their father.

Numerous members of TIME S UP Healthcare have left the organization after two other founding members were alleged in a lawsuit to have inappropriately handled complaints about sexual assault and harassment.
The federal lawsuit, filed by an anonymous plaintiff from the VA Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, accuses Jason Campbell, MD a physician who has made a name for himself by dancing on social media of sexual assault and of sending her sexual texts and images.
According to the suit, the plaintiff revealed Campbell s behavior to Esther Choo, MD, MPH, an emergency physician at Oregon Health and Science University and founding member of TIME S UP Healthcare, but Choo did not report Campbell s behavior.

“Once Jason Campbell became popular through social media, leaders at OHSU seemed protective of him,” one of the nurses said in her declaration.

Two more women claim former OHSU Dr. Jason Campbell came up from behind them and forced his body against theirs at work, similar to the conduct a social worker has alleged in a federal lawsuit.
A third woman said Campbell followed her around during his rotation in her unit in 2019, asking her for free hugs.
The three nurses paint a disturbing picture of Campbell, an anesthesiology resident who gained national attention as the so-called TikTok Doc for the viral videos he posted on social media of him dancing in his hospital scrubs.
