Updated: 3:35 PM CDT May 3, 2021 Angela Rozier Reporter Several students from the Palm Beach Atlantic University women s sailing club are getting some recognition for making a daring rescue that was captured on video. Freshman Aubrey Holloway and senior Corinna Lambright were out training in the intracoastal waterway in West Palm Beach in March when they spotted a juvenile green sea turtle struggling in the water.Holloway happens to be a marine biology major. Then, we see that it was having a buoyancy issue, and I learned that in my classes and I could spot it, Holloway said. I was like, wow. It can t go down to grab food, so it s going to die. They contacted officials at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center and were told if they could catch the turtle and bring it to the facility, Loggerhead could help it recover.It took several sailors to jump in and rescue the turtle and bring it to shore.Officials said the turtle had been struck by a boat propeller.
