Ellerbrock awarded Henry County 4-H Foundation scholarship

GENESEO The Henry County 4-H Foundation awarded a $500 Scholarships to Cole Ellerbrock of Atkinson.
He is the son of Brad and Lisa Ellerbrock. Cole will graduate in May from Geneseo High School and plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College to study Ag Business.
He is a 10-year member of the Atkinson Boosters 4-H Club where he has served as club president, secretary and treasurer. His 4-H projects have included sheep for 10 years, goats for three years and swine for two years. Cole has been involved in Henry-Stark Livestock Judging Team and has attended Livestock on Ice Leadership Conferences. He has also been a member of the Illinois Club Lamb Association.
Pingree, Golden unveil earmark requests for federal funding of 20 Maine projects

Reps. Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden have unveiled their list of requests for Congressional earmarks, the member-requested federal funding initiatives that are returning to Congress after a decade-long ban.
Under new rules designed to avoid corruption and abuse, each House member is allowed to request 10 earmarks to benefit nonprofits and governmental entities – but not private firms – in their districts. Members had to post their list of requests – only a fraction of which will be granted by the House’s budget appropriators – by Wednesday evening.
The lists from Maine’s members include requests that would revive what had been southern Maine’s only inpatient detoxification program; improve or replace water and sewer infrastructure in several Maine towns; renovate landmark buildings in Portland, Lewiston, Bridgton and Gardiner; and help fire departments, community college workfor
