This weekend lots of runners will fill the streets of Downtown Lafayette. The Zydeco Marathon, Fun Run, 5k and half marathon races are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. This means certain roads will be closed and you may have to find an alternate route. The Fun Run and 5K will take place on Saturday, March 13th; the half and full marathons are scheduled to take place Sunday, March 14, at 7 a.m. The races will start and finish at Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette. The participants will then proceed through the Saint Streets, Cajundome, back through Downtown Lafayette, Freetown neighborhoods, ULL’s campus, Oil Center, and Bendel Gardens neighborhood. Parc International will be the home of the festivities associated with the races. Officers with the Lafayette Police Department will be stationed along the course to reroute motorists.
