It all allegedly started with Rossibeth called him saying his wife had poured soap in the rice she was making.

The trial of a man charged with killing a mother and her two children in 2019 began Tuesday with his wife testifying that she saw him shoot and kill Rossibeth Flores-Rodriguez. Marvin Esquivel Lopez, 33, faces three charges of first-degree murder for killing Flores-Rodriguez, 29, who went by Rosie, and her two children, Grecia Daniela Alvarado-Flores, 11; and Ever Jose Mejia-Flores, 5. All three were found shot to death after police responded to Esquivel Lopez s Des Moines home late on the night of July 18, 2019. Esquivel Lopez, also known as Marvin Escobar-Orellana to federal immigration authorities, said after his arrest he had returned to the United States after previous deportations in 2010 and 2011.
