Sony has finally revealed that the company will start taking pre-orders for PlayStation 5 on May 17 from noon onwards. The news is a major respite for lakhs of gamers across the country who have been waiting for the arrival of the popular gaming console since it first went out of stock earlier in 2021.
It’s only the second time that the PlayStation 5 will be up for sale in India. The next-gen console was first launched in India in January 2021 after it was rolled out globally in November 2020.

Midnight Black and Cosmic Red will join the existing white-and-black pad, with a global release date scheduled for next month. “Midnight Black features two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky, and Cosmic Red offers a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos,” an enthusiastic Isabelle Tomatis explained on the PS Blog.
Pre-orders are already open in the United States on PS Direct, with an 11th June release date attached. The release date in the UK is 18th June. According to the manufacturer, the date will alter slightly depending upon region and retailer, but you should expect to be able to grab one of these next month wherever you are.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the next major PlayStation 5 exclusive, and it s shaping up very nicely indeed. Insomniac Games must employ a bunch of witches and wizards, because it seems that every game they put out is a winner. We can t imagine Rift Apart will disappoint, and there s not long to wait. The colourful platformer comes to PS5 on 11th June, in just under a month s time.
The other good news is that the developer has just announced the game has gone gold, meaning the major work is done, and it s ready to roll.

Sony’s promoting the PlayStation 5 controller hard today. Along with the announcement that two new colours will be joining the platform’s product portfolio, the firm has also invited a half-dozen developers onto the PS Blog in order to talk about how they’re leveraging the hardware. Much of this we already knew – like how all Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s weapons will “feel” different – but there’s some new information in the article as well.
