White Sox star Eloy Jimenez to make 2021 season debut Monday

By Erin Walsh  |  Last updated 7/25/21 The Chicago White Sox lineup is about to receive a significant boost.  Manager Tony La Russa announced that outfielder Eloy Jimenez will be activated from the injured list and make his 2021 season debut Monday against the Kansas City Royals, according to The Athletic s James Fegan. Jiménez could DH or LF. Still to be determined. La Russa does not anticipate that he will take at-bats away from Andrew Vaughn. Said Vaughn is swinging as well as anyone and “we’re trying to win games James Fegan (@JRFegan) July 25, 2021  Jimenez missed the first four months of the season after rupturing his pectoral tendon during spring training.

Entering the game, the Sox were 0-5 against the Astros and had only been competitive in one of those defeats. “We needed this win tonight,” said Anderson, who came a triple short of the cycle and extended his hitting streak to 14 games. “Coming into today, we knew we hadn’t beaten them in [five] games, so we knew what we needed tonight. We were able to go out and accomplish our goal.”
