An independent candidate standing for election as an Islington councillor is awaiting trial on charges of intimidation of a witness, ABH and possession of cocaine, the Gazette can reveal.
Jody Graber is standing in the St Peter s ward by-election in opposition to low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs).
The 40-year-old, of Wharton Street, has pleaded not guilty to three charges, and told the Gazette he believes the trial is due to take place next year.
He is alleged to have assaulted a man, causing actual bodily harm, on February 16, 2020 at Pickfords Wharf, in the City Road Basin.

One of them - Christine Eisen - who suffers from Parkinson s Disease and spinal problems, spoke at the protest.
She can t walk more than a few steps, and needs her carer to be able to park outside Christine s home in Drayton Park and drive her to doctor s and hospital appointments and to the shops.
Christine is worried about what the future might hold once the Highbury West traffic reduction scheme is introduced in her neighbourhood this month, and that she might become a prisoner in her own home . The council should be helping people with disabilities, but people are becoming more and more isolated, Christine said.
