Four cars have been stolen and recovered in Janesville over the past several nights, according to police. According to a news release, each vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside. The Janesville Police Department has issued a warning to the community reminding people to lock their vehicles, windows, doors, and outdoor buildings, as well as removing keys from cars each night. Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police. Information regarding vehicle thefts or break-ins can be directed to the Janesville Police Department.

One person was killed Friday morning after being hit by a semi-truck while walking on the interstate, according to Wisconsin State Patrol officials. Authorities said they were first notified of a crash with injuries on I-39/90/94 just north of the interchange with Highway 151 shortly before 4 a.m. When they responded to the scene, troopers said they found a pedestrian dead. The victim was identified as a 42-year-old Sun Prairie man. An initial investigation revealed the victim had been walking in the southbound lanes of the interstate for an unknown reason when they were hit by a semi. Officials said the semi truck driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.

A Minnesota man is facing OWI charges after he was arrested for driving the wrong way and crashing head-on into another vehicle. Nicholas Rahlf, 28, of Houston, Minnesota was arrested just before 1 a.m. Monday on a tentative third OWI charge. A report from the Wisconsin State Patrol said Rahlf was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes of I-39/90 when he crashed his SUV into another vehicle. State troopers said both vehicles were heavily damaged and both drivers were injured.

By John Heinis/Hudson County View Elvis Santana, 30, of Bayonne, was charged in March in relation to the death of Mathew Mortimer who was found with multiple stab wounds to his body in the vestibule of 1095 Avenue C, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement. Authorities believe that Santana is in the New York/New Jersey metro area. Santana was previously charged with murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon. On Tuesday, March 2nd, just before 3:30 p.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to 1095 Avenue C between 53rd and 54th Streets on reports of a stabbing.
