Austrian hoteliers Rudolf and Christian Ploberger from GR Properties UK plan to transform Boundary House in the City of London into a 300-bedroom hotel with serviced offices, having bought the property for approximately £31m.
The Jewry Street site comprises a 45,000 sq ft office building. Agents Gerard Nolan & Partners sourced the property for the client as a potential mixed-use development.
The Plobergers previously owned Bow Street Magistrates Court in Covent Garden, which was sold in 2016. The pair received planning permission to turn the building into a hotel in 2014, however then decided to sell it to BTC UK for approximately £75m. The NoMad London hotel is set to open at the site next month, dependent on Covid restrictions.
