Enough is enough : Burlington Police arrest some violent offenders over and over © BPD william farnsworth For a second consecutive night, Burlington Police arrested familiar suspects following downtown assaults, both involving dangerous weapons. In the latest case, William Farnsworth, 32, who was most recently living in a state-funded motel, was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon. Police said he attacked another man near the corner of Church and Pearl streets around 11 p.m. Wednesday, leaving him bloodied and requiring medical attention. Police said they located Farnsworth soon after on Elmwood Avenue and recovered a pair of brass knuckles in his pants pocket.

VANDALISM At least a dozen cars were found spray-painted between July 2 and July 3, including on Laramie Avenue, Riverside Drive, Illinois Road, Elmwood Avenue, Manor Drive, Frontage Road. On July 3, police noticed the North Branch Road sign was missing at the intersection with Riverside Drive and a street sign had been spray painted in the 800 block of Laramie Avenue. Someone spray-painted a building in the 3600 block of Illinois Road at some point on or before July 3, police were told.

Power restored to nearly 4,000 Western New Yorkers following severe thunderstorms

Hundreds of people in Niagara and Allegany counties were still without power late Tuesday night. Author: WGRZ Staff Updated: 4:16 AM EDT July 14, 2021 BUFFALO, N.Y. Over 5,000 people were without power Tuesday evening as severe thunderstorms made their way through the area.   Power has been restored to over 4,000 National Grid customers. According to National Grid s power outage map, a majority of the outages were reported in Erie and Niagara counties.  As of 4:15 a.m., 115 National Grid customers in Erie County were still without power. The estimated restoration is 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. Meanwhile, 65 NYSEG customers are currently without power. A majority of the outages have been reported in Niagara county. Restoration times have not been provided at this time.
