ELMIRA, N.Y. Eliza Beaudin of Lewiston has been named to the 2021 winter term dean’s list at Elmira College.
Full-time undergraduate students registered for at least 12 computable credit hours, and earning a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher at the end of term I or term II, are placed on the dean’s list.

Oneida Board of Education announces superintendent finalists

The Oneida City School District Board of Education will take the next steps in its search for a new superintendent of schools when its three finalists visit the district on May 3-5.
During the course of the visits, the candidates will meet with representatives of various stakeholder groups, including administrative leaders, instructional and non-instructional staff, students, parents and community representatives. They will also tour some of the district’s facilities and learn more about the culture of the community.
Following the visits, the Board of Education will select a final candidate for further consideration. The board anticipates appointing a new superintendent around June 1.
Elmira College awards Mary Lou Parrella Prize

Elmira College recently awarded the Mary Lou Parrella Prize to sophomore Alexander Taylor.
Taylor is a member of Circle K International, TEACH Club and Community Arts of Elmira. He has also won multiple awards, including the Elmira College Arts Alive Juried Show 2020 and the 2020 Mark Twain Art and Writing contest. He hopes to one day be a professional artist and art teacher.
The prize is given by Lina Parrella in memory of her niece, a member of the Class of 1965, to a freshman or sophomore in the field of fine arts.
