El Pollo Loco eyes Laredo as part of Texas expansion plan

COSTA MESA, Cali. - El Pollo Loco, the nation’s leading fire-grilled chicken chain, is targeting Laredo as part of its next wave of Texas expansion.
The Southern California-based chain, which already has 31 restaurants operating across the state, plans to open two locations in Laredo over the next few years. Each of the restaurants will occupy approximately 2,400 square feet of real estate and employ as many as 50 people.
Other markets being targeted as part of the chain’s Texas-wide expansion include: Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Lubbock and Midland-Odessa, among others.
El Pollo Loco, a popular fire-grilled chicken chain, is targeting Wichita Falls in its next wave of Texas expansion, according to a media release.
The chain also plans to sweep up Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Laredo, Lubbock, Midland-Odessa and other markets in the Texas-wide expansion, according to the media release.
“We are excited to grow our footprint and bring El Pollo Loco s signature chicken, handcrafted Mexican entrees and assortment of healthy offerings to new communities,” Chief Development Officer Brian Carmichall said in the release.
The iconic restaurant chain plans to bring two locations to Wichita Falls over the next few years, according to the media release.

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith on Saturday completed a series of socially distanced commencement ceremonies to honor the 2021 graduates following last week s event for the class of 2020.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, in-person commencement ceremonies were not held in December for the class of 2020. While close to 200 students walked the stage on May 1, there were 810 graduates in the class of 2020 who earned bachelor s degrees; 247 who earned associate degrees; 119 who earned technical certificates; and 12 who earned master s degrees.
The 2021 candidates who walked May 7-9 included those graduating in the spring and summer 2021 semesters and comprised 542 bachelor s degree candidates; 172 associate degree candidates; 75 technical certificate candidates; and eight master s degree candidates, including the five students who are the first to graduate from the university s Master of Education program.
