Head injury victim died of heart attack, brother says
A man who died Monday at El Centro Regional Medical Center after being found unconscious with a head injury in a driveway of the 400 block of Neckel Road actually died from a heart attack, according to a family member.
Russel Reeves left his job at Western Mesquite Mines early Monday about 8:15 a.m. after he reportedly began feeling ill, according to a family member who identified himself as his brother, Jarrad Reeves.
Jarrad Reeves said Russel took about two steps from his pickup after arriving home when he apparently collapsed and hit the back of his head, resulting in the head injury.

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The El Centro Police Department (ECPD) says an investigation into a stolen car recently led its officers to a potentially explosive discovery.
Someone stole a red Pontiac Grand Am Sunday morning from the 1600 block of Barbara Worth Drive. Less than three-hours after receiving the report, officers located the stolen vehicle in the 400 block of Wake Avenue.
Officers then saw two men leaving a nearby motel room carrying a number of bags. ECPD detained the men to question them about the Pontiac. Officers that s when motel staff alerted them to the discovery of military-style ordnance in the men s room.
ECPD investigating armed robbery at ATM
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The El Centro Police Department is searching for two suspects after allegedly taking money from an ATM.
Police say the incident happened Thursday afternoon at the 2000 block of North Imperial Avenue.
Police say two men approached the victims working on an ATM with weapons demanding money. Both victims complied and gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspects then left the scene in two vehicles, both of which were recovered as evidence.
Police obtained a search warrant for an apartment at the 400 block of Wall Road to look for the suspects but did not locate them.
