J-MC Library beginning to look at expanding to meet needs of county
The Jackson-Madison County Library is 28 percent under the space it needs to be as mandated by the state library association.
“We’re supposed to have a square foot per person within our county, and we’re about 28 percent short of that number,” said Dinah Harris, the director at the library.
The library’s board recently had a study done to analyze its space, its needs and what it would take to fill the gap.
The results of that study were recently released to leaders of the city and county along with other stakeholders with the library.
