All sense of urgency to ensure the safety of future generations and biodiversity on this planet is being completely ignored and used as a political plaything. What can we possibly do, as citizens of this country, to convey this utter despair to our supposed leaders? Anything? Judy Hungerford, North Curl Curl Just about every institution – including state governments, business, unions and farming groups – want net zero emissions by 2050 to be legislated. Although not yet fully understood, a half dose of the AstraZeneca given first by mistake followed by a full dose produced 90 per cent efficacy in phase three of the trial. Why woul

Top-end tax cuts encourage exasperation, not aspiration Top-end tax cuts encourage exasperation, not aspiration December 22, 2020 — 12.05am Save Normal text size Advertisement International research has only confirmed our opinion of the Morrison government’s tax cuts (‘‘Top-end tax cuts fail economy and boost inequality: studies’’, December 21). This government has always favoured the top end of town and always will. It’s time voters stopped falling for the nonsense. Frydenberg claimed the tax cuts would reward effort and ‘‘encourage aspiration’’, but they will only increase exasperation. The cuts were supposed to protect ordinary workers from ‘‘bracket creep’’, not give them the creeps.
