The Baton Rouge Police Department is terminating one officer and placing another on administrative leave.
The department concluded their investigation involving Ofc. Siya Creel who engaged in adverse conduct when he failed to comply with policy procedures. As a result, Creel was fired.
In a separate investigation, BRPD arrested Cpl. Jeremiah Ardoin for his alleged involvement in the purchase and receiving of stolen property.
He was charged with criminal conspiracy and illegal possession of stolen things and has been placed on leave while the investigation continues.

Baton Rouge Police Chief Murphy Paul said Tuesday that he was firing the BRPD union vice president for violating department policies, a move that further escalates his longstanding feud with union leadership that recently landed both parties in court.
The court battle started earlier this month when the union vice president, Siya Creel, sued the department, claiming his free speech rights were violated when BRPD leaders opened an investigation after he did an interview with a former Baton Rouge television reporter. The interview â which ultimately cost him his job â was about a billboard campaign the union launched during the summer to bemoan the Baton Rouge homicide rate, an indirect jab at the police chief and mayor.
