Daylight Rush finished with a flourish on Saturday night (May 15) and convincingly took Buffalo Raceway s $11,200 Class AA-Open Handicapped Pace in 1:53.4, the fastest time of the 2021 meet. Seven For Bailey; McDonough Grabs 1,000th | Standardbred Canada

Bailey guided Badix Hanover to easy win in the featured $5,500 pace. Badix Hanover charged out of the gate and went right to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.2. He slowed the pace down with a :29-second quarter to hit the half in :56.2. Peggy J (Jeff Sorenson) was the first to make a move coming first-over from third. She put on the pressure but Badix Hanover continued to lead hitting three-quarters in 1:24. As they made the turn for home Badix Hanover would not only have to fight off Peggy J but now Napper Tandy (Jimmy Whittemore) came charging late. Buffalo Open To Protect Blue Chip | Standardbred Canada

It was a blue chip performance by Protect Blue Chip as she captured the $10,200 Class A-Open Handicapped Pace for the filly and mares at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday evening. Wonderful World (David McNeight III) took command from the rail in the featured event and cruised along with splits of :28.4, :58 and 1:27. Those fractions proved to be too much for Wonderful World in the end. The first over Protect Blue Chip took over the lead with a panel to go and her cover brought Ellieonthemove into serious contention. It turned out to be a two-horse race to the wire with Protect Blue Chip (Billy Davis, Jr.) keeping Ellieonthemove at bay and registered the length score in 1:56.1. Yankee Secret (Ray Fisher, Jr.) managed to collect the third place cheque.

Black Is Back Is Back At Buffalo | Standardbred Canada

It s been nearly six months since Black Is Back went to the winner s circle, but he made it back there on Saturday night (May 8) after taking a three-quarter length win over Mr Ham Sandwich in Buffalo Raceway s $10,500 Class AA-Handicapped Pace. The last time Black Is Back had a photo opportunity was on Nov. 28, 2020 when he won the $8,500 Open I Pace at Batavia Downs. Last week, Black Is Back suffered a tough three-quarter loss to Mr Ham Sandwich but was able to turn the tables on him this time around. Taking control from the start, Black Is Back posted splits of :29, :57.2 and 1:26.2 over the fast track. Things got interesting in the stretch drive with Mr Ham Sandwich taking dead aim on the leader, but Black Is Back gutted it out to hit the wire first. Endeavors Pride took the show position.
