Solar Eclipse Warms The Buffalo And WNY Sky [GALLERY]
This is one of the coolest things I have witnessed from our building and studios here at WYRK! Check out these pictures I snapped of the partial, solar eclipse as it happened over Buffalo at sunrise on Thursday morning!
We are lucky to have a great vantage point for most of the things that happen around Western New York. Being 12 stories above Lafayette Square makes it a great place for viewing storms, news related events, and even a beautiful sunrise! Thank you to our listeners for their contributions as well. Take a look at the picture that was sent to us from Mike Brenon as he watched the sun and the eclipse rise over the wind turbines over Wyoming County.

According to a press release I received, Dr. Gale Burstein, the Commissioner of the Erie County Department of Health, said,
US-Canada Border Near Buffalo Opening June 22?
For those who have not seen friends and family, or property, on either side of the border in over a year, the wait may soon be over. There is a bit of a catch.
According to multiple reports, there is a push to allow for the border between the United States and Canada near Buffalo and Niagara Falls to open for those who are fully vaccinated.
Canada s Public Safety Minister suggested that 75-percent of people must have at least one dose of the vaccine and 20-percent must be fully vaccinated. Data from Canada s coronavirus indicates that nearly 62-point-two-percent of Canadians have received at least one dose and eight-point-two-percent are fully vaccinated.
