Twenty-four of those new cases were in the far north west zone. It now has 72 active cases overall, the most of any region. According to Dr. Nnamdi Ndubuka, medical health officer with the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA), there are now 56 active case on reserves in the far north west. Most of those are on the Buffalo River Dene Nation, west of Buffalo Narrows near the Alberta border.

Ndubuka said the increase there “resulted from the community displacement and evacuation due to forest fires.”
Trafficking and firearms charges laid after search warrant executed in Buffalo Narrows, Sask.
On Monday at approximately 11 p.m. CST, Buffalo Narrows RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Cubby Street in Buffalo Narrows.

The seized items included 136 grams of crack cocaine, prescription drugs, two unsecured firearms, two pellet guns that replicate handguns, other weapons and drug trafficking paraphernalia. ( RCMP )
Two people are facing drug trafficking and weapons charges as a result of a search warrant RCMP executed in Buffalo Narrows, Sask.
Buffalo Narrows RCMP conducted the search on Monday at around 11 p.m. CST at a home on Cubby Street in Buffalo Narrows, which is about 430 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
