We are Buffalo strong : Community rallies support after fatal clinic shooting

Many in this community were touched by the tragedy.  “That is the clinic that I go to, as a patient. So it was very surreal to see that on TV and to know that that s where I go to and I m taken care of and so many community members taken care of there,” said Ali Tokkesdale, a Buffalo High School graduate. “I started crying, tearing up a bit. My dad immediately called just to let me know he was safe here.” Many were moved by how quickly people mobilized to help.  “It is really heartwarming and we are really happy to see our community come together and be really united in the wake of the tragedy that happened this past Tuesday,” Tokkesdale said.

Today we will continue our look back at Johnson County’s top stories during the last year as we focus on May through August of 2020. The Johnson County Rural Health Board, during their May meeting, voted to accept the contract with Buffalo EMS concerning ambulance services in the county. An Ambulance Needs Assessment, performed earlier that spring, looked at different scenarios to provide the best and most cost-effective ambulance services to the county, and the consultants suggested keeping the current situation with a few modifications. Johnson County Year-in-Review 2020: January-April – Sheridan Media

Today we will begin our look back at Johnson County’s top stories during the last year as we focus on January through April of 2020. In January, former Buffalo Chamber of Commerce CEO Angela Fox filed an appeal of her convictions with the Wyoming Supreme Court. In May of 2019 Fox was found guilty of three counts of felony theft stemming from her use of chamber of commerce credit cards to make personal purchases for just over $8,600 and was sentenced to two to five years for each count, to run consecutively. Her sentence was suspended except for 90 days and she was given 10 years of supervised probation until restitution in the amount of just over $16,000 is paid to the chamber of commerce.
