John Paul Lynch, Sr., 70, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23. at Berkeley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born March 7, 1950 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late John E. Lynch and Lorena Steele Lynch.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rosemary Moore Lynch; his brother George Allen Lynch and wife, Carol; his three sons, J.P. Jr. and wife, Dawn; Eric Scott and wife, Kristin; and Ryan Patrick and wife, Stephanie. He is also survived by seven grandchildren- Madison, Anna. Sofia, Emma, Juliana, Aidan, and Teagan, and two nieces, Sabrina Lynch and Rachel Ramage.
He was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and Fairmont State College. For eight years, he was the Director of Bands at Sistersville High School in Sistersville, WV before coming to Martinsburg High School as the Director of Bands. He taught at MHS for 24 years before his retirement in 2005. Since that time, he has taught music to the children in the Eastern Panhandle at Shepherdstown Middl

New Jersey unemployment remains at record levels, many businesses have permanently closed and parents and students struggle with remote learning. More than 20,000 have died from COVID, many of them alone with families unable to say goodbye. Add to that a turbulent election and presidential transition.
How do we cope? Where can we turn for help?
New Jersey 101.5’s Eric Scott leads the news and digital departments in bringing mental health experts together to talk about these stressors and help residents access help.
We often don t acknowledge the stress that we are going through in our daily lives and perhaps that s even more true during this pandemic. It has crippled the everyday process we used to take in going through our way of life. I’ve noticed that even those who are positive, glass-is-always-half-full people are having a tough time going through this long period of discourse and dishevelment.
For some, it’s not as tough, but for many who struggle every day to pay bills, school the kids, hold on to a job, curb their social behavior, all while dodging the grasp of the actual virus, it can take its toll.
