Jesus Aguilar homers again as Marlins top Brewers

Sandy Alcantara allowed two runs over a season-high seven innings and Jesus Aguilar hit a home run for the fifth time in the past six games to lead the Miami Marlins to a 6-2 victory over the host Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.
The Marlins won two of three games at Milwaukee this week and are 3-4 on their current 10-game road trip which resumes Friday against the Washington Nationals.
Both runs Alcantara (1-2) gave up came on a third-inning home run by Kolten Wong. He allowed five hits and struck out four without issuing a walk on 93 pitches.

Brandon Woodruff delivered on Sunday without any drama this time, unless you count a showdown vs. Anthony Rizzo with the tying run at third base in the last of Woodruff’s six brilliant innings in a 6-0 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
“They re both our aces,” said Brewers leadoff man Kolten Wong of Woodruff and Burnes, “but Woody s leading us and he s been doing an amazing job. When he s out there dominating the way he is, I mean, it s just so fun to understand that you ve got two horses like that in your stable that can go out and compete with anybody.”

CHICAGO, IL (WSAU) â The Brewersâ offense came alive in the 9th inning in a big way on Sunday to help the Crew secure a 2-1 series win over the Cubs.
Milwaukee opened the scoring with an RBI walk to Travis Shaw in the first giving them a 1-0 lead that would hold up through the 8th.
The Brewers went into the 9th looking for some insurance runs and the offense didnât disappoint. Luis Uras and Kolten Wong started the scoring with back-to-back RBI hits to build the lead up to 3-0. Tyrone Taylor and Travis Shaw would then get on base by a walk and hit by pitch, respectively to add two more runs.
