Zach Wilson Is In A Class Of His Own

By: Crissy Froyd April 19th, 2021 2021-04-19T06:03:00-05:00 The Draft Network Photo: USA TODAY NETWORK There was a time Zach Wilson was an afterthought as far as upper-level quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL Draft go. Then, there was a time it was considered preposterous to rank him above former Clemson quarterback We’re now beyond both of those eras, with Wilson slated to be one of the first players off the board and a number of people both in the media and within the NFL willing to put him over Lawrence.  This comes down to a lot of things that can be described in short-form as the Joe Burrow-type of rise Wilson had at BYU this past season. One quarterback Wilson models himself after is Burrow himself and who wouldn’t want to do that after the success Burrow had at LSU, finishing out an undefeated season with a win over a historically dominant Clemson team?

+ Show 1 more video USC signee Jaxson Dart named MaxPreps Utah High School Football Player of the Year DRAPER When Jaxson Dart first transferred to Corner Canyon ahead of his senior year of high school football, he did so knowing he would be under the microscope. He d have the pressure of a team that had won back-to-back state championships and held the longest active winning streak in Utah s top classification. He more than lived up to them. Under Dart s command, the Chargers (14-0) rolled to their third consecutive state title and pushed a wining streak over 40-straight games. Dart s personal journey culminated in December, when he signed with USC in advance of graduating early and joining the Trojans in time for spring football.

Weber State's early signing class includes all-time prep receiver from Corner Canyon

But one incoming freshman may take the place of three wide receivers in a normal year. Corner Canyon wide receiver Noah Kjar, the state s career leader in receptions and three-time state champion who ranks second all-time in receiving yards for a season and career, was one of three incoming freshman signed by seventh-year coach Jay Hill on Wednesday. Kjar, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide out from Draper who is the son of Corner Canyon coach Eric Kjar, had 285 career receptions for 4,935 yards and 50 touchdowns in four seasons with the Chargers. He s the second-most prolific wide out in state history, according to the Utah High School Activities Association record book, and has the most yards and touchdowns of anyone not included Orem graduate Puka Nacua, who caught 260 passes for a state-record 5,226 yards and 58 touchdowns in four seasons before signing with Washington in 2018.
