UPDATE: APRIL 19 AT 5:45 P.M. WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. - Gallatin County Sheriff Dan Springer released the names of the two individuals who were found dead in a wooded area near Duck Creek following a vehicle pursuit on April 16. Dan Springer identified the victims as 22-year-old Henry Porter and 28-year-old Erika Miller, both of Billings. Both victims were found deceased of a single gunshot wound of the head in an apparent homicide/suicide. No further details are being released at this time. UPDATE: APRIL 16 AT 8:36 A.M. BILLINGS, Mont- Law enforcement agencies in Billings and Gallatin County are investigating a possible connection to the death of a woman in Billings and the two suspects found dead after a chase ending West Yellowstone.

Authorities Identify Billings Homicide/Suicide Suspects On April 15, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m, the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office was called as part of a multi-agency response in the West Yellowstone area for a vehicle pursuit. The suspect vehicle was wanted in connection with a homicide out of Billings. The two suspects exited their vehicle and fled on foot into the Duck Creek area near the intersection of Highway 287 and Highway 191. Several law enforcement agencies, including the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, the National Park Service, West Yellowstone Police Department, U.S. Forest Service, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Game Wardens, Montana Highway Patrol, and the Bozeman Police Department (as part of the joint Special Response Team) worked together to secure a perimeter. A shelter in place order was communicated to the residents near the area.

Murder suspects found dead near West Yellowstone identified MTN and last updated 2021-04-20 13:17:29-04 BOZEMAN — Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances last week that left three people dead: one in Billings and two near West Yellowstone. “On April 15th, 2021, at about 10:30 pm, deputies were called to an agency assistance request down near West Yellowstone for a vehicle pursuit,” said Gallatin County Sheriff s deputy Justin Schnelback. “The vehicle was wanted in connection to a homicide out of Billings.” The incident in Billings happened on Thursday afternoon; police found a woman dead and said it was suspicious because she showed signs of trauma. The Yellowstone County Coroner s Office on Friday identified the murder victim as 64-year-old Roxann Renee Watson. She died of strangulation and multiple blunt force trauma, the coroner s office said.
