Pulaski County FFA Members Haggan Bishop, Aiden Vanhooser, Amanda Anderson, and Braden Tilley entered their proficiencies into the Lake Cumberland Regional contest. These proficiencies were based on their SAE(supervised agricultural experience) projects.
Bishop received Superior First for his Agricultural Communications Proficiency. His SAE is about educating and helping others with hunting and fishing. He makes videos that teach people how to catch fish and identify good fishing areas. Haggan also makes education videos about deer and turkey hunting. He talks about hunting seasons, looking for signs, tracking methods, and population control. Haggan posts these videos on Youtube and other social media platforms. SCAM: Elderly victims were targeted in the scam A MAN has been jailed for two years for his role in scams that tricked elderly and vulnerable victims to hand over more than £200,000. Claudio Megi, 26, previously of Green Farm Hostel, Clos Tan Y Ffarm, Cardiff, has been sentenced to two years for his roles in committing nationwide telephone and courier fraud offences against the elderly and vulnerable, which formed part of Operation Hyperion. Worcester Crown Court heard Megi played a significant role, receiving funds that had been obtained from two separate vulnerable victims of the fraud. He also failed to appear at court, in a deliberate attempt to evade justice and received an additional two months imprisonment for that offence.
Pupils at Bewsey Lodge Primary School were inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 100 challenge and have raised more than £2,600 for school funds. Youngsters from all year groups took inspiration from the late veteran’s 100 lap challenge and completed laps of the school grounds. Some children together with members of staff walked or ran 5km while others really pushed themselves and finished 10km. Headteacher Emma Wright said: “We asked for the event to be sponsored in the hope that we might raise around £500 to put into school funds but I was amazed by the final total. “In my 10 years at this school, this is the biggest fundraising effort I have seen and I could burst with pride.
