Two lanes were closed on the busy motorway at around 12pm today (April 25) due to a collision. The crash occurred on the northbound carriageway between junction 23 (Bridgwater) and junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea). Witnesses report the incident involves a lorry and a motorbike. Highways England has confirmed that lane closures are in place and that congestion is expected to build in the area.

The section of the motorway affected is on the northbound carriageway between junction 24 and junction 23, near Bridgwater in Somerset. The traffic monitor Inrix reported that there is “queuing traffic for three miles” due to the crash, which involved three cars. Highways England traffic officers are responding to the collision. A spokesperson for Highways England said: “Please approach with care obeying signals.”
