Williams driver George Russell said his relationship with Mercedes Formula One boss Toto Wolff remained strong despite a costly collision with Valtteri Bottas at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo is convinced he can win a World title with McLaren but it won’t be this season.
The Aussie swapped from Renault to McLaren in the off-season, saying at the time he believed in the McLaren programme and the progress it had made since he turned them down in 2018.
The Woking team is already justifying his faith, putting his team-mate Lando Norris on the podium at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
But while that is 30 behind championship leader Lewis Hamilton, the Honey Badger says it is only a matter of time before he is fighting for a World title with McLaren.

Jos Verstappen says Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton’s shoulder bump at Imola was the start with the protagonists showing they won’t “let the other push them aside”.
Having claimed the victory at the season-opening Bahrain GP, crossing the line 0.7s ahead of Max Verstappen, Hamilton went on to take pole position at Imola with Verstappen third.
Having had his interview immediately after qualifying, it was Hamilton’s turn next with the two title protagonists walking past one another – but on a collision course.
Neither gave way, the two bumping shoulders with Hamilton turning back to look at the Red Bull driver.

This time the teams and drivers had two weeks to recover from the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. This weekend the Portuguese Grand Prix is on the agenda with the Spanish Grand Prix following immediately. The races follow each other in quick succession. Who is the favourite for the GP in Portimao?
Autódromo Internacional do Algarve
The circuit in Portimao, the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, was used for the first time in 2020 for a Formula 1 and MotoGP race. The circuit had been used before for other race series, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the circuit located in the Algarve, also came on the radar of Formula 1.

Lando Norris is hopeful McLaren will have the pace to mix with Mercedes and Red Bull in this weekend’s Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix.
Norris scored his second career podium last time out in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The McLaren driver managed to fend off the recovering Lewis Hamilton for several laps, before relinquishing second to the reigning world champion.
Norris once again beat both Ferraris and comprehensively out-performed teammate Ricciardo as he continued his strong start to the season.
The 21-year-old is hopeful McLaren can continue to fight F1 s leading teams in the coming races.
After finishing third at Imola, Norris said in the post-race press conference: “It’s nice to be racing unusual cars I guess for us - a Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferraris and things like that. It’s nice to be going up against them so hopefully we can have some more of that in the future.”
