State Board tells Patrick Henry, Dabney S. Lancaster Community Colleges to reconsider keeping their names

Two area community college may be getting new names, if a Virginia state board has its way.
On Thursday, the 15-person State Board for Community Colleges announced it unanimously voted to direct Patrick Henry Community College and Dabney S. Lancaster Community College to reconsider their previous decisions to retain their names.
PHCC is located in Henry County, not far from Martinsville, while DSLCC is in Alleghany County, just outside the town limits of Clifton Forge.
The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books, and for the Houston Texans, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that, despite a draft class where they didn t pick until the third round and only came away with five players, the Texans 2021 Super Bowl odds were not adversely affected by the draft. The bad news is that they went into the draft with the worst odds to win the Super Bowl of any team in the NFL (150 to 1, if you re curious), and that s exactly where they remain: Rock Bottom.
If there is one big takeaway from this past weekend, it s that the draft was a sobering reminder that this rebuild is going to be a long, painful, arduous process. Bill O Brien did more damage to this roster than I think we even cared to acknowledge during a mess of a 2020 season. Call it denial, call it what you will. This team is a mess, and its draft was underwhelming, through no real fault of new GM Nick Caserio, who was left with very little to work with.

JuVaughn Harrison (high jump): The four-time national champion set a school record of 7 feet, 6 ½ inches to win the high jump by five inches over his nearest competitor. His winning mark also gave him the NCAA lead in this outdoor season (along with the long jump) and eclipsed the school’s 31-year-old record of Tom Lange (7-5 ¾).
Rayvon Gray (long jump): Grey ran a wind-aided jump of 26-7 ¼ to win the event.

2021 NFL Draft Prospect Profile: WR Jaylen Waddle, Alabama

A four-star recruit out of Bellaire, Texas, where he attended Episcopal High School. Waddle was the 39th recruit and the fifth wide receiver recruit in the 2018 cycle. He owns three of the top five longest receptions in Alabama football history. Waddle was a First Team All-American in 2019 and an SEC All-American freshman in 2018.
Recorded 106 catches for 1999 yards and 17 touchdowns while at Alabama. His numbers don’t jump out like LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase or fellow teammate DeVonta Smith s, but his impact on the game is still felt. Waddle was also an impressive kick and punt returner for Alabama, which ultimately led to his 2020 injury.
