The tool was adapted from JHPIEGO: Maternal and Neonatal Health program 1 and translated into the local Amharic language. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data via a face-to-face interview. In order to ensure the quality of data, a pre-test was carried out in 5% of the sample size in Sheko town, and training was also provided for eight data collectors and two supervisors. The data were cleaned, coded, and entered into Epi Info version 3.5.3 and exported to SPSS version 25 statistical package for analysis. Descriptive statistics were computed to determine the magnitude of BP&CR practice. Furthermore, a bivariate logistic regression technique was done. Subsequently, those variables with p 0.2 were moved to multivariate analysis and analyzed by a stepwise multivariate logistic regression technique to control the effects of confounding and to identify predictors of BP&CR practices. A P-value of 0.05 was considered as statistical significance at a 95% confidence interval.
