Punjab to open more vaccine centres About 20k people visit 126 facilities daily for inoculation PHOTO: REUTERS/FILE LAHORE: Around 20,000 citizens are receiving Covid-19 vaccines doses daily at 126 centres established by the Punjab government in all the districts of the province, The Express Tribune has learnt. In Lahore, two facilities at the Expo Centre and Minar-e-Pakistan are serving about 2,000 citizens daily.  The provincial government also plans to open more vaccination centres in the big cities, including one at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute in Lahore.  The vaccination centres across the province remained open on Sunday and thousands of people visited them for inoculation. Medical teams are providing the vaccination service at the 126 centres operating in the province.

Govt hospitals under scrutiny PHOTO: EXPRESS LAHORE: The Punjab health department has launched a crackdown against mismanagement and negligence by the administrators of the province s government hospitals in a bid to improve the health facilities for the people. The provincial health ministry has announced a zero-tolerance policy against negligence by hospital administrations and planned surprise visits by senior officers to monitor the conditions in them. The ministry has formed teams of officials of the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department to start monitoring the hospitals and take immediate action against corruption and mismanagement. A couple of days ago, the department suspended the medical superintendent of the Government Hospital Shahdara and instructed the administrations of all hospitals to improve the conditions.
