Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has intensified its monitoring efforts to ensure schools implement COVID-19 preventive and precautionary measures ahead of midterm exams for the second semester. The exams for students from Grades 1 to 11 will begin on February 24. Inspection teams from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) have intensified monitoring in schools to ensure the implementation of COVID-19 measures, said Adviser to the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Mohamad Al Bashri.
Speaking on a Qatar Radio programme yesterday, Al Bashri assured parents that the school environment is safer than outside.

(MENAFN - The Conversation) With most of the world s people now living in urban areas, the coronavirus pandemic has highlighted the importance of urban resilience. It s just as important for adapting to climate change.
Put simply, resilience is the ability of a system, in this case a city, to cope with a disruption. This involves either avoiding, resisting, accommodating or recovering from its impacts.
Our research , recently published in the journal Urban Research and Practice, examined two coastal Australian cities, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Our aim was to identify ways to improve urban resilience to coastal climate hazards. We found the political aspect of resilience is often overlooked but is critically important.
