Mumbai: The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) seized 1,800 kilograms of ganja from a tempo near Vikhroli on the Eastern Express Highway on Friday. The contraband seized by the agency is worth Rs 3.5 crore. The cops nabbed the accused after laying a trap for them.
Two persons were nabbed along with the ganja at around 5 pm on Friday. Allegedly, the accused brought the contraband from Odisha. The main supplier was identified as Sandeep Satpute. Satpute was a resident of Louis Wadi, Thane.

Mumbai, Feb 13 : The Mumbai Police have busted an inter-state drugs racket and effected one of the biggest seizures of narcotics ganja weighing 1.80 tonnes wortt over Rs 3.60 crore concealed under a consignment of coconuts, a top official said here on Saturday.
The breakthrough was made by the Anti-Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police s Crime Branch-CID, supervised by Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, said Milind Bharambe, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime). We were tracking this case for weeks. There was also surveillance, technical intelligence and following the drug peddlers. The consignment was seized from a truck on the Eastern Express Highway and two persons have been arrestedin connection with the case, Bharambe told mediapersons.

Iqbal Mirchi had sought information regarding IPS officer Rahul Rai Sur, a 1981 batch IPS officer who was posted as DCP of Anti-Narcotics Cell of Mumbai Police between 1989 and 1992.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 7 (ANI) Kandivali Unit of Mumbai s Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) on Saturday arrested 2 drug peddlers and seized a total of 47 kg of ganja from their possession.
The total worth of the recovered drug consignment is estimated to be about Rs 9 lakhs and 40 thousand.
Deputy Commissioner of Police ANC Datta Nalawade said, Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell had arrested a 30-year-old woman with 24 kgs of ganja and a 42-year-old man with 23 kgs ganja in two separate incidents. The accused male is a resident of Orissa and the accused woman was arrested from Malad area. Both of them were presented in court on Saturday and the court has sent the accused to police custody till February 12, he added. (ANI)
