DSWD commits serious effort vs child pornography

Published January 12, 2021, 11:07 PM The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has assured the public that it maintains its close partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to run after the perpetrators of child pornography. The DSWD as chair of the Inter-Agency Council Against Child Pornography (IACACP) made the assurance after the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) released a report showing that from January to June 2020, some P113.1 million worth of suspicious transactions related to child pornography were recorded. “As chair of the IACACP and the lead agency in the social protection of vulnerable sectors, the DSWD is closely working with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to track and apprehend the perpetrators of child pornography and rescue the victims,” it said in a statement.

Fidel Nograles said after reports have said that some students had been peddling sensual photos and videos in order to raise money to buy more gadgets for their distance learning classes. Distance learning methods were implemented on a large scale last year after the  coronavirus made traditional face-to-face classes untenable due to health concerns. Beware of sugar daddy websites exploiting women – Manila Bulletin

Published December 17, 2020, 8:33 AM It has been a challenging year for the whole world, and the Philippines is not exempted from this. With Covid-19 still out there, the vaccine has yet to reach us, and the economy heavily affected, Filipinos are trying their best to keep themselves healthy and make ends meet.  With lower or no income coming in, some women have resorted to looking for “extra money” in exchange for “romance.” The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) reminded women “to be cautious in joining websites, e-groups, or apps claiming to offer opportunities for seeking romance and finance.” These sugar daddies and their babies make their match online and agree on the arrangements which may include monthly allowance. In turn, the “babies” give whatever they both agree on be it companionship, dates, or even a romantic relationship.
