Jaipur, Feb 16 : Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje s meeting with BJP President J.P. Nadda on Monday in Delhi has raised many eyebrows in Rajasthan s political circles at a time when Raje s followers have already started an intensive campaign demanding her projection as the BJP s chief ministerial face for the 2023 Assembly polls and have announced rallies and yatras to make her emerge as the winner in the ongoing power tussle within the state BJP unit.

Jaipur: The Opposition BJP on Thursday created an uproar in the Rajasthan Assembly over the issue of attack on an RSS worker in Kota, leading to adjournment of house proceedings twice. During the zero hour, BJP MLAs Vasudev Devnani and Madan Dilawar raised the matter but Speaker CP Joshi did not allow them following which Deputy leader of opposition, Rajendra Rathore, and others stormed to the well protesting against the incident.
The first meeting of a newly formed 16-member core group of the BJP, which has been put in place amid reports of factionalism within the party, was held in Jaipur on Sunday.
National vice president and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria and Rajya Sabha MP Bhupendra Yadav, however, skipped the meeting for different reasons, a party leader said here. State BJP president Satish Poonia said various organisational issues were discussed in the meeting of the core group. Raje could not attend as her daughter-in-law is unwell, while Kataria and Yadav had separate engagements, he said.

The first meeting of a newly formed 16-member core group of the BJP, which has been put in place amid reports of factionalism in the party, will be held in Jaipur on Sunday, a party leader said. The new group consists of BJP leader Satish Poonia, national vice president and former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, Rajya Sabha MP Om Mathur, Union ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Kailash Chaudhary, Leader of Opposition Gulabchand Kataria, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, among others. The first meeting of the group will be held on Sunday during which organisational issues will be discussed, state general secretary Bhajanlal Sharma said. National general secretary and state in charge Arun Singh will also be present in the meeting.
