City reaches deal for redevelopment of Public Safety Building site Images courtesy of Capital City Partners) Months of negotiations have reached a proposed deal for a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of Richmond’s city-owned Public Safety Building property. Ordinances and legal documents reflecting the negotiated deal between the city administration and developer Capital City Partners were formally introduced to the City Council at its meeting Monday evening. The deal will be reviewed in committee and brought back to the council for consideration at a future meeting. Capital City Partners, consisting of the development team that designed the former Navy Hill plan, has proposed a 20-story, VCU Health-anchored tower and mixed-use office complex that would fill the bulk of the 3-acre property at 500 N. 10th St.

Bucks, Montco students Zoom to moon, take top prizes in Future City competition Imagine living on the moon 100 years from now, watching  Moonstruck  while munching on moon pies.  Middle-school students from 30 educational institutions throughout the Delaware Valley got the chance recently to show just how they would not only survive but thrive that far from home and that far into the future. They participated in the 29th annual Future City competition.   Future City is an organization that asks sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students to research and build cities using their imagination to design engineering concepts.  Most of the competitions involve earthly dwellings, but this year, Future City wanted the kids to go far out and plan a lunar landscape on which they could put down roots.

by Stephen Chapman Bruntwood Scitech has seen its turnover rise 34.5% (£40.1m) over the last financial year. The owner of science and technology developments in Manchester, Liverpool and Alderley Park also saw its portfolio value increase to £526.8m (2019: £438.2m). However, while its gross profit has risen to £9.9m, it reported pre-tax losses of £7.6m (2019: £20.1m profit). “The UK’s science and technology sectors have been two bright spots amid the economic challenges of the pandemic, as well as remaining central to the country’s long-term growth prospects. And our proposition is perfectly aligned to supporting each sector’s opportunities today and in the future,” stated Chris Oglesby, Bruntwood SciTech’ Executive Chairman.
